A case has been registered against Kalpika Ganesh at the Gachibowli police station in Hyderabad, following the recent incident that took place on the night of May 29 at Odeum by Prism, a popular pub in the area. The FIR was filed on June 10 after the pub’s management formally approached the police.
According to the complaint lodged by Deepak Bajaj, Managing Partner of Prism Club and Kitchen, Kalpika Ganesh, along with a guest, allegedly caused disruption after consuming food and beverages worth Rs 2,200. The dispute reportedly began when she insisted that a dessert be offered complimentary. Although the staff offered a brownie as a goodwill gesture, the actress allegedly refused to pay the bill, threw a plate, and verbally abused senior staff, including with body-shaming remarks.
The management also claimed that the actress livestreamed the altercation on Instagram and later made false allegations of molestation and rape on social media. They further stated that she continued to be aggressive in the presence of police officers and disrupted the venue’s operations.
The Cyberabad Police, after securing court permission, booked Kalpika under sections 324(4), 351(2), and 352 of the BNS, which pertain to property damage, criminal intimidation, and intentional insult to provoke breach of peace. Police are going to issue a notice summoning her for questioning.
Kalpika Ganesh, who debuted in Prayanam (2009), has played supporting roles in several noted Telugu films, including Julayi, Yashoda, and HIT: The First Case. Her most recent appearance was in Atharva (2023).
