
Andala Rakshasi, the acclaimed romantic drama by Hanu Raghavapudi, will complete 13 years of its release this year. Meanwhile, the makers of the film have decided to theatrically re-release their film next week on June 13.
Starring Naveen Chandra, Lavanya Konidela Tripathi and Rahul Ravindran in lead roles and set in the early 1990s, Andala Rakshasi told the story of a small town girl Mithuna (Lavanya), who struggles with the memories of her ex-boyfriend Surya (Naveen), while attempting to start her life afresh with Gautham (Rahul) who has been loving her for a long time. The film stood out for its non-linear narrative and fresh take on contemporary relationships.
Andala Rakshasi marked the debut for Hanu Raghavapudi, who also penned the screenplay, as well as its three lead actors. The film was co-produced by Sai Korrapati and SS Rajamouli. Radhan composed music, while Murali G served as the cinematographer.
Hanu Raghavpudi, who went on to make the iconic film Sita Ramam, is working with Prabhas in his next project.
