Released in 2010, Vedam is a social anthology drama that interweaves five stories: a slum-dwelling cable operator (Allu Arjun), a prostitute (Anushka Shetty), a rock musician (Manoj Manchu), a weaver (Manoj Bajpayee), and an aspiring soldier. Their paths converge in a hospital under distressing circumstances, highlighting themes of class division, human dignity, and sacrifice. The film was praised for its gritty realism and unique non-linear narrative structure, a departure from mainstream Telugu cinema at the time.

Vedam received critical acclaim and several awards, including four Filmfare Awards South and four Nandi Awards. It also marked a turning point in Allu Arjun’s career, showcasing his range as an actor beyond commercial roles.
