Naresh Agastya, whose last theatrical release was the psychological thriller Kali, has an upcoming film titled Meghalu Cheppina Prema Katha. The film, promising to be a heartwarming romantic drama, also marks Telugu debut for Rabiya Khatoon. A few days ago, the makers had announced July 17 as the release date for their film. However, on Thursday, the team confirmed postponing their film’s release.

Taking to their official X page, the film’s production banner Sunethra Entertainments posted, “The release has been postponed due to delays in post-production. We will meet you soon in the theatres.”

Meghalu Cheppina Prema Katha is written and directed by Vipin. The film is produced by Uma Devi Kota who has also worked on the film as a costume designer and co-story writer (the latter in association with Ravinder Pulle). The ensemble cast of the film includes prominent names like Aamani, Harsha Vardhan, Tulasi and Venkatesh Kakumanu, who plays the hero’s best friend.

The technical crew has veterans like Thota Tharani and Marthand K Venkatesh on board, helming production design and editing, respectively. Mohana Krishna is the cinematographer.

In the past few weeks, the makers had released two teasers of their film, both of which underlined contrasting elements of their narrative, capturing both the bonding points of the protagonists as well as the factors that could possibly cause a rift between them. While the male protagonist is more introspective and brooding in nature, the female protagonist Meghna is more life-embracing in nature.
