Director Rahul Sankrityan has officially started the production of his next project with actor Vijay Deverakonda, tentatively titled VD14. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film is expected to feature Rashmika Mandanna as the female lead, although an official confirmation is awaited.

On Republic Day, Sankrityan shared on X (formerly Twitter) that work on the film’s set has begun. Posting pictures from the location, he wrote, “I am sure this film will be one of the most powerful films ever made on the unspoken colonial history of India.”

VD14 is reportedly a period war drama set during India’s colonial era, focusing on an untold story of a king. Reports suggest that South African actor Arnold Vosloo, known for his roles in The Mummy (1999) and The Mummy Returns (2001), has been approached for a key role. However, the makers are yet to make an official announcement regarding his involvement.

Meanwhile, Vijay Deverakonda is currently filming VD12, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri. With VD14, Sankrityan and Deverakonda are reuniting after their previous collaboration, Taxiwaala (2018).
