Nagarjuna reflects on 50 years of Annapurna Studios

Nagarjuna marked the 50th anniversary of Annapurna Studios by sharing memories and insights about its history. The studio, established by his father and veteran actor, Akkineni Nageswara Rao (ANR), in 1975, was named after ANR’s wife, Annapurna. Nagarjuna highlighted this connection in a video shared on X (Formerly Twitter), explaining that ANR believed in the saying, “There is a woman behind every man’s success.”

Nagarjuna wrote, “50 years ago, my father Akkineni Nageswara Rao envisioned a place where dreams would take flight. Annapurna Studios was born on Sankranti, and today, we celebrate 50 years of storytelling and innovation. Thank you for your love and support.”

The actor noted that the studio was envisioned as a space where creative aspirations could be realized. In the video, Nagarjuna walked through the premises, recalling its origins and legacy. He also mentioned a Sankranti tradition where the studio staff gathers for breakfast, a practice that continues to this day. Recently, the noted production house inaugurated India's first Dolby-certified post-production studio.

On the professional front, Nagarjuna will appear in Sekhar Kammula’s Kubera, featuring Dhanush and Rashmika Mandanna. Initially planned for December 2024, the film’s release has been delayed. He is also set to appear in a special role in Lokesh Kanagaraj and Rajinikanth’s Coolie.
