Abhinav Gomatam, who appeared in films like My Dear Donga, Operation Valentine and Masthu Shades Unnai Ra last year, will be seen playing a quirky comic character in the upcoming Chandini Chowdary-Vikranth starrer Santhana Prapthirasthu. The makers of the film shared a new character poster featuring the actor, on Wednesday.
In Santhana Prapthirasthu, Abhinav portrays Subbu, a frustrated, unmarried software engineer with pan-India matrimony profiles. Directed by Sanjeev Reddy, who is known for Allu Sirish starrer ABCD and the web series Aha Naa Pellanta, this film is set to be a musical family entertainer, promising to tell the story of a young married couple trying to have a child while battling many societal stigmas.
The movie is being produced by Madhura Sreedhar Reddy and Nirvi Hariprasad Reddy under the banners of Madhura Entertainment and Nirvi Arts. The screenplay is written by Sheikh Dawood, who has worked on films such as Venkatadri Express, Express Raja, and Ek Mini Katha. Kalyan Raghav has penned the dialogues.
The supporting cast also includes Vennela Kishore, Tharun Bhascker, Muralidhar Goud, and Harsha Vardhan. Sunil Kashyap is the music director, while cinematography is by Mahi Reddy Pandugula.
The film is set to have a theatrical release this year, though a release date is yet to be announced.
