The trailer of Baapu, a dark comedy-drama set in rural Telangana, has been released. Directed by Dayakar Reddy and produced by Raju and CH. Bhanu Prasad Reddy under Comrade Film Factory, the film features Brahmaji, Avasarala Srinivas, Sudhakar Reddy, Dhanya Balakrishna, and Amani in key roles.

The trailer of Baapu follows a farmer’s family dealing with financial and emotional hardships. The head of the household, played by Sudhakar Reddy of Balagam fame, is diagnosed with a severe illness and makes a life-altering decision to ensure his family’s future. His son, portrayed by Brahmaji, is a struggling farmer burdened by debt. The younger generation also faces their own challenges, with a grandson working as an auto driver and a granddaughter working as a lecturer. The film explores themes of sacrifice, debt, and resilience in a Telangana village. The film has a tagline – “A father’s suicide story.”

Cinematographer Vasu Pendem captures the rustic setting, while RR Dhruvan’s music balances the film’s emotional and comedic tones. Editing is handled by Aalayam Anil. Baapu is gearing up for release on February 21.
