Vishwak Sen is gearing up for his next release Laila that’s slated to hit theatres on February 14. The official trailer of the film, released a few days ago, received a lot of attention for its risque dialogues and brand of ‘adult comedy’ elements. During a media interaction on Saturday, the film’s producer Sahu Garapati addressed the subject.
The film has received an A certificate from the censor board. When asked if the film can be labelled as an ‘adult comedy,’ Sahu Garapati said, “Adult comedy is everywhere. If you open Twitter, that's all you see. Compared to that, this is very moderate. It’s very similar to what we talk about regularly in our lives.” Sahu Garapati further stated his confidence in Laila as a family entertainer, adding, “We have targeted the youth. However, family audiences will also enjoy it. This is a film made with an attempt to make people laugh. We believe we have succeeded in that.”
Laila will see Vishwak Sen garb the attire of a woman for a large chunk of the film, as his character tries to evade threat from both police and goons. The producer also praised Vishwak Sen for accepting a role like this. “We had approached some heroes before. It’s not that easy to get a hero to do this role. However, as soon as Vishwak heard this story, he said he wants to play this character. He is a very enthusiastic actor,” he added.
Directed by Ram Narayan, Laila also stars Akanksha Sharma as the female lead and Abhimanyu Singh, Vineet Kumar and Babloo Prithaveeraj in the supporting cast.
