Roshan Meka made a comeback recently with the period drama Champion, which also marked Telugu debut for Anaswara Rajan. While the film has not exactly lived upto the expectations at the box office, Roshan has been winning a lot of praise for choosing an intense role like this. Now reports are coming in about many leading Telugu filmmakers approaching Roshan for their upcoming projects.
One of those projects include a romantic comedy that is being produced by Naga Vamsi under the Sithara Entertainments banner. HIT franchise filmmaker Sailesh Kolanu helms the direction for the film, and the makers have reportedly signed Roshan for the lead role, considering the film is about a youthful love story.
On Saturday, Allu Aravind met Roshan to congratulate him for Champion’s positive reception among audience. The meeting of the two has also led to more speculations about Allu Aravind signing Roshan for one of their upcoming films under Geetha Arts banner.
There have also been reports about Gautham Vasudev Menon planning a Telugu film, for which Roshan has being approached. It is to be noted that Gautham hasn’t made a Telugu movie in nearly 10 years — his previous Telugu project was the Naga Chaitanya starrer Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo which didn’t perform well at the box office.
Meanwhile, Champion has collected nearly Rs 9 crores at the box office worldwide in its first 3 days, according to Sacnilk.com. Made on a reported budget of Rs 45 crore, the Pradeep Advaitham directorial hasn’t picked up over the weekend, especially compared to other new releases like Shambhala and Dhandoraa that have picked up due to strong word-of-mouth.
