Leading production house SVC, owned by Dil Raju, officially revealed the title and glimpse of its upcoming film Rowdy Janardhana. Vijay Deverakonda plays the titular role in this action drama, confirming the producer’s earlier announcement about the film’s title. The glimpse was screened publicly at a multiplex on Monday.
Directed by Ravi Kiran Kola, Rowdy Janardhana is an intense action film with a raw and violent tone. The glimpse indicates heavy bloodshed, marking a departure from Dil Raju’s usual family-oriented films. Speaking at the event, the producer said, “I am also following the latest trend, and that’s why this film showcases a certain level of violence.”
Dil Raju also revealed his future plans, stating that he is taking a brief break in 2025 but will return strongly in 2026. “Rowdy Janardhana will be released in 2026, along with five more films from my banner. All of them are currently in production, and I will announce the details at another event,” he said.
Director Ravi Kiran Kola, who made his debut with Raja Gaaru Raani Vaaru and also penned the story for Ashoka Vanam Lo Arjuna Kalyanam, shared interesting insights about the project. “I have been working on Rowdy Janardhana for the past five years. It is a period drama set in the East Godavari region, and the story takes place in the 1980s,” he revealed.
Talking about Vijay Deverakonda’s preparation, the director said that although the actor was born and brought up in Telangana, he worked extensively on the East Godavari dialect for this role. When asked that there is usually a Telangana tinge when he speaks, “but for this film, Vijay took utmost care and practiced the East Godavari slang thoroughly. I am from the same place, so I closely monitored everything,” Ravi Kiran added.
Rowdy Janardhana is also one of the most expensive films produced under Dil Raju’s banner. “For the glimpse alone, the director came to me with a detailed requirement list. I told him the budget was quite high, but he convinced me, saying these visuals are part of the film itself. I was confident in his vision,” Dil Raju said, praising the director’s talent. “After seeing his work as a writer in two films, I am sure he can translate what he has written on paper to the screen.”
Interestingly, Ravi Kiran Kola admitted that he is a big fan of Vijay Deverakonda. “When I first narrated the story to him, he remained silent for some time without saying a word. Later, he agreed to do the film. That moment made me believe that this project is going to be a big success,” the director concluded.
