We had earlier reported about Vijay Deverakonda working with filmmaker Ravi Kiran Kola on one of his upcoming projects. On Thursday, the makers released an interesting video, announcing that the title glimpse will be out on December 22.
The video features Ravi Kiran Kola, who can be seen intensely speaking about how he grew up with the story of a man — imperfect, angry, flawed, real, and wounded. “I loved him as much as I hated him — and I knew his story had to be told.” The video, that’s shot entirely in a single take, ends with the visual of the protagonist’s right hand — bloodied, and wounded, further locking into the violent nature of the narrative.
It remains to be seen whether Rowdy Janardhana is retained as the film’s title, as Dil Raju had hinted in March, or the team has come up with a new title.
Dil Raju is producing the film, tentatively billed as SVC59, under the banner of SVC Creations. The Vijay Deverakonda starrer is reportedly set against the backdrop of Rayalaseema, incorporating political elements. Keerthy Suresh plays the female lead in the film.
Dino Shankar is the production designer, and Praveen Raja is the costume designer. Cinematography is by Anand C Chandran. The makers are aiming for an early to mid 2026 release. The project was officially launched in October.
Vijay Deverakonda, meanwhile, also has an untitled film with director Rahul Sankrityan.
