After multiple delays in its shooting stage, Dacoit, the Adivi Sesh-Mrunal Thakur starrer, is now slated to arrive next year, on March 19, 2026. Recently, the makers confirmed the teaser unveiling date for their film.
Taking to her X page, Mrunal Thakur shared that the teaser will be out on December 18. The Hi Nanna actor also informed that while the teaser will be unveiled at Gaeity Galaxy in Mumbai at 11am, the Dacoit team will be present in Hyderabad on the same evening for the ‘Media Meet and Greet’ event for their film.
It is to be noted that Dacoit has been billed as a bi-lingual film, shot both in Hindi and Telugu. The film will be released simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, with dubbed versions in other languages, targeting a pan-India audience.
The romantic action-thriller that will mark Adivi Sesh’s return in a leading role after more than 3 years, also marking his first collaboration with Mrunal. Directed by Shaneil Deo, the film will have Mrunal Thakur playing a character entangled in a violent past and conflicted loyalties, and appears to be at the heart of a story driven by passion, betrayal, and revenge.
The ‘Fire Glimpse’ teaser, which was released in May, gave a peak into their relationship alongside intense action sequences, including a shot of a train crashing into a prisoner van. The teaser also showed Anurag Kashyap, who makes his Telugu film debut, as a fierce police officer, adding further intrigue to the mix.
Dacoit is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang under Annapurna Studios. Music is composed by Bheems Ceciroleo. The film was earlier postponed due to a delay in shoot because of Adivi Sesh’s on-set injuries.
