On the occasion of Venkatesh’s birthday, the makers of his 2001 blockbuster Nuvvu Naaku Nachav announced that they are planning a grand re-release for their film soon. The romantic-comedy that also starred Aarthi Agarwal will arrive in theatres on January 1.
Producer ‘Sravanthi’ Ravikishore said about the release, “This is the right time to start the new year with laughter with your family. Enjoy this experience that has been enjoyed in various media for 25 years now in theaters to the fullest.” Recalling the shoot experience, he added, “I remember every day. I remember where we shot what, how we shot it, how much we loved working as a team. The shooting took place over 87 days.” The producer also informed that they will be releasing a 4K print for the theatrical re-release.
The romantic-comedy was a massive box office success. It was the third highest grossing Telugu film of the year, and went on to win 5 Nandi Awards — Best Home-viewing Feature Film, Best Supporting Actress, Best Female Dubbing Artist, Best Dialogue Writer, and Best Choreographer. The film was later remade in Tamil as Vaseegara (2003) and in Kannada as Gowramma (2005).
The supporting cast of Nuvvu Naaku Nachaav included Prakash Raj, Suhasini, Brahmanandam, Sunil, Chandra Mohan, and MS Narayana. The film’s soundtrack by Koti achieved immense popularity. The film was directed by K Vijaya Bhaskar, and written by Trivikram who had previously collaborated on Nuvve Kavali.
Incidentally, after all these years, Trivikram is finally directing Venkatesh in a movie. The makers recently announced the title of the film.
