For small producers working with limited budgets, Bunny Vasu and Vamsi Nandipati have emerged as reliable distributors. After backing the light-hearted entertainer Little Hearts and the intense love story Raju Weds Rambai, they have now acquired Eesha, a thriller with strong horror elements.
Eminent producer KL Damodar Prasad is presenting the film. “After my last few films didn’t perform well commercially, I consciously took a break. Now I am returning with Eesha. I have known director Srinivas Manne for 15 years and I am familiar with the producer Venkat, so I decided to be part of this project,” he said.
Bunny Vas revealed that he watched nearly 60 to 70 films in recent months but chose to distribute only four. “The first is Little Hearts, the second is Raju Weds Rambai, the third is Isha, and I will reveal the fourth later,” he said. He clarified that their decision to take up Eesha was not influenced by Damodar Prasad. “Vamsi and I watched the film, liked it, and decided to distribute it. That’s all,” he added. When asked about the terms of their agreement with the filmmakers, they declined to disclose details, calling it 'a business secret.;
When told that they often receive most of the credit after acquiring the rights to small films, Bunny Vasu responded, “It’s not just about money. We actively promote these films. Promotion is not easy, and we support the films in every possible way.”
Damodar Prasad also praised the duo’s efforts. “I had wanted to create a platform for budget-friendly films, and meanwhile these two started doing just that. It has become a great platform for small films, especially at a time when many struggle to get a release,” he said.
Eesha promises to be packed with thrills and scares. “Anyone with a weak heart — please don’t watch this film. That’s our sincere warning,” Bunny Vasu said.
Akhil of Raju Weds Rambai fame plays one of the leads, alongside Thrigun and Hebah Patel. The film releases on December 12. “There is a lot of competition, but I’m confident about my film,” said Bunny Vas.
