On Saturday, eminent members of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) and Telugu Film Producers Council (TFPC) had a joint meeting with Telugu Industry Film Employees’ Federation (TFIEF) to make a decision about the ongoing film workers’ strike, where the members had demanded a 30 per cent wage hike for all crew members. After the meeting, the committee announced its terms and conditions before they can come to an agreement with the workers’ federation.
Representing the committee, TFCC secretary KL Damodar Prasad stated, “We are ready to give a 15 % wage hike for first year for those workers and crew members who are currently drawing a daily wage of Rs 2000 or less. For the next two years, we can give a hike of 5 percent each.”
Meanwhile, workers earning less than Rs 1000 per day would be given a hike of 20 percent for first year, followed by no hike for 2nd year, and then 5 percent for 3rd year. Damodar Prasad also clarified that the committee does not find film workers earning above Rs 4000 liable for any wage hike.
Additionally, the members announced that old wage model would be followed for the small film producers. When asked about what constitutes a ‘small film’ in terms of budget, TFCC secretary stated that the members are still finalising the terms for the same. “If the federation agrees to these terms and conditions, then we can continue further discussion about the subject,” Damodar Prasad concluded.
Leading producers and filmmakers like S Naga Vamsi, TG Vishwa Prasad, Naveen Yerneni, SKN, and Sahu Garapati among a few others were in attendance for the meeting.
