Anupama Parmeswaran, who was last seen in the successful Tillu Square, is now gearing up for her next release Paradha. The film is directed by Praveen Kandregula, who has previously made acclaimed indie films like Cinema Bandi and Subham. The official trailer of the film was released at a grand ceremony on Saturday. Among others, Ram Pothineni was present at the ceremony.

Also starring Darshana Rajendran in a prominent role, Paradha tells the story of Subbu, a young woman from a conservative village who has learnt to follow all traditions since her childhood, including keeping a paradha (veil) over her head. Due to some circumstances, Subbu ends up being part of an ambitious trekking journey, a journey that broadens her horizons and offers her a new perspective on life.

However, once Subbu returns, the villagers takes a violent stand against her, deciding to ocstracise her and labelling her presence a ‘curse’ for the village. Thats when Subbu decides to challenge the societal norms. Paradha promises to be a unique coming-of-age story with a strong commentary on gender hierarchy.

The lead cast of Paradha also includes Rag Mayur, Sangitha Krish, Rajendra Prasad and Harsha Vardhan. The film is produced by Vijay Donkada, Sreenivasulu PV, Sridhar Makkuva under Ananda Media banner.

In the technical team, Mridul Sujit Sen returns as the cinematographer for Praveen Kandregula after Subham.  Dharmendra Kakarala and Poojia Tadikonda are in charge of editing and costumes, respectively. Srinivas Kalinga is the art director.
