The team behind Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi, the official Telugu remake of the Malayalam hit Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey, has released a special poster showcasing lead actors Tharun Bhascker and Eesha Rebba in a marriage photo. Timed to coincide with the occasion of Varalakshmi Vratham, the poster also marks the first reveal of Eesha’s look in the film.
Tharun Bhascker plays Ambati Omkar Naidu, a role modelled on the character originally portrayed by Basil Joseph. Eesha Rebba’s character name is yet to be disclosed, but the story centres on her character’s rebellion against her abusive husband. In the original Malayalam version, Darshana Rajendran played the lead opposite Joseph in a narrative that balanced domestic satire with themes of empowerment.
Produced jointly by Movie Verse Studios and S Originals, the film marks the directorial debut of AR Sajeev. S Originals, which recently backed the critically acclaimed 35 – Chinna Katha Kaadu, is positioning the project as a comedic drama with a socially conscious core.
Filming for Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi took place largely in Rajahmundry earlier this year. The supporting cast includes Brahmaji among others, while the technical crew features Jay Krish as music composer and Deepak Yeragara as cinematographer.
Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi was initially announced for release on August 1 but has been postponed for undisclosed reasons. A new release date has yet to be confirmed.
