The makers of The Raja Saab marked Malavika Mohanan’s birthday on Monday with a special poster from the upcoming Prabhas starrer. The still, featuring Malavika in a regal white saree, quickly caught audiences’ attention, but what also stood out was the missing release date, prompting speculation that the film’s scheduled December 5 release may be postponed.
Social media was soon flooded with comments from fans seeking clarification. “Why is the date missing?” one user wrote, while another asked, “Is The Raja Saab pushed to Sankranthi?” Reports suggest the team is considering a Sankranthi 2026 release, which could potentially benefit from the festival box office window. However, there has been no official confirmation.
Adding to the uncertainty, trade sources have indicated that Prabhas requested certain sequences be reshot to enhance the film’s quality, reportedly allotting additional dates for director Maruthi to complete the work. This would mark the second delay for the horror-comedy, heightening anticipation for an official statement from the production house.
Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under People Media Factory, The Raja Saab stars Prabhas alongside Malavika Mohanan in her Telugu debut, with Nidhhi Agerwal and Riddhi Kumar as co-leads. Sanjay Dutt, who reportedly plays Prabhas’s grandfather, will also feature in a prominent role. The music is composed by S Thaman.
While reports of a delay circulate, the film’s promotions have remained active, with the team recently unveiling a poster of Sanjay Dutt on his birthday. With Prabhas taking up the horror-comedy genre for the first time, expectations remain high. Fans are now waiting for the makers to officially confirm whether the film will stick to its original date or move to Sankranthi 2026.
