The makers of Ghaati, starring Anushka Shetty and directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, have confirmed that the film’s theatrical trailer will be unveiled on August 6. Alongside the trailer, the team will also announce the long-awaited new release date.
After a round of postponement, the film was scheduled for a July 11 release but then due to pending VFX and post-production work, Ghaati was postponed at the last minute again, leaving audiences disappointed. However, recent reports suggest the film is now being readied for a September release, with an official confirmation arriving with the trailer.
Produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainments, Ghaati marks Anushka’s fourth collaboration with UV Creations and her reunion with director Krish after the much-acclaimed Vedam (2010). The film sees Anushka play a tribal woman involved in the illegal cannabis trade, a character described in its teaser as “a victim, a criminal, and a legend.” The role reportedly carries dual shades of vulnerability and vengeance.
The film also stars Vikram Prabhu as Desi Raju, with music composed by Nagavelli Vidya Sagar and dialogues by Sai Madhav Burra. Cinematography is handled by Manojh Reddy Katasani, and production design is led by National Award-winner Thota Tharani.
Prime Video has secured the film’s post-theatrical streaming rights, while Aditya Music has acquired the audio rights. In contrast to Anushka’s recent outing in Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, Ghaati promises a darker, more intense turn for the actor, blending action with a revenge-driven narrative.
