Sudheer Babu will soon be seen headlining a supernatural thriller Jatadhara. The teaser of the film will be unveiled on August 8, the makers confirmed on Monday.
The makers also shared a new poster on the occasion, which gives the audience a glimpse of the central conflict in Jatadhara, between the mortal and the mythical. Sudheer Babu’s character can be seen battle-ready, even as he remains shadowed by a towering silhouette of Lord Shiva. The poster also features an upside-down image of Dhanapisachini, the demon guardian of forbidden treatures ruling over the demonic underworld.
The film will reportedly explore the mystery of the Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, dealing with the legends and theories surrounding the temple's mysterious powers. Directed by Venkat Kalyan and Abhishek Jaiswal, the film promises to be a mythical thriller that blends ancient folklore with visual extravaganza and AI-enhanced storytelling.
Jatadhara was announced exactly a year ago, in August 2024, with the makers unveiling a first look poster on the occasion. The shoot for the film commenced in February this year. Sonakshi Sinha, who is making her Telugu debut with the project, wrapped up her scenes’ shoot in May. More details about the primary cast are yet to be announced.
Jatadhara is produced by Zee Studios, Umesh Kumar Bansal, Shivin Narang, Aruna Agarwal, Prerna Arora, Shilpa Singhal and Nikhil Nanda. The film marks Prerna Arora’s second collaboration with Zee Studios after Rustom.
Reportedly planned as a bilingual and shot simultaneously in Telugu and Hindi, Jatadhara is set to hit theatres later this year, although the makers are yet to announce a date.
Sudheer Babu’s last theatrical release was Maa Nanna Superhero, a relationship drama that didn’t fare well at boxoffice. He also headlined the crime-drama Harom Hara that received mixed reviews.
