Just 3 days after roaring past Rs 50 crores at the box office, Ashwin Kumar’s animated divine film, Mahavatar Narsimha, has taken a majestic stride, making over Rs 105 crores at the global box office. In a post on their social media handles, Hombale Films, the presenters of the film, wrote, "#MahavatarNarsimha crosses 105 CRORES+ GBOC India, setting the box office ablaze with unstoppable momentum. A divine phenomenon awaits you in cinemas.”

A fully animated film, Mahavatar Narsimha is the retelling of the story of Bhakt Prahalad and Lord Narasimha. The story centres on the famous Hindu legend of Prahlada, a devoted follower of Lord Vishnu. His father, Hiranyakashipu, a powerful king and fervent atheist, becomes furious over Prahlada’s steadfast devotion. After receiving a boon of near-immortality from Lord Brahma, Hiranyakashipu repeatedly attempts to destroy his son. However, when his tyranny goes too far, Lord Vishnu appears in his fierce fourth avatar, Narasimha, to save Prahlada and defeat the oppressive king.
