The makers of 23 released their new single, ‘Egaraale’, on Wednesday. The upcoming social drama is being directed by Raj Rachakonda who has previously made films like 8am Metro and Mallesham.

Composed by Mark K Robin, ‘Egaraale’ is a tender composition that is motivational in its poetry and offers an interesting blend of acoustics and folk-based beats. Chandrabose has penned the lyrics. Meanwhile, Kailash Kher has lent vocals to the song, bringing his quintessential earthiness to the composition. The song video captures its male protagonist (Teja) going about his gruelling job at a cotton factory, trying to earn a living and lead a life of dignity with his wife (Tanmai).

Produced under the banner of Studio 99, 23 promises to be a socially conscious drama, exploring the themes of justice and redemption, telling a story based on three separate events of mass killings that impacted the contemporary history of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The film features debutants Teja and Tanmai in lead roles, and actors like Jhansi, Pawan Ramesh, Thagabothu Ramesh and Praneeth in the supporting cast. While Raj Rachakonda has penned the screenplay, the dialogues are by Indus Martin.

In the technical team, Sunny Kurapati is the cinematographer and Anil Aalayam helms the editing. Additionally, Rana Daggubati is on board as the presenter.

The makers of 23 are yet to set a release date for the film.
