Bindu Madhavi has joined the second schedule of Dhandoraa, a rural Telugu drama currently being filmed in Dharipally Village, Medak district. Produced by Loukya Entertainments, the film is directed by Muralikanth and features a large ensemble cast, including Shivaji, Navdeep, Nandu, Ravi Krishna and Manika Chikkala, among others.
Bindu Madhavi plays a character named Sreelatha, a mother and a sex worker. According to the makers, the role avoids stereotypical depictions and aims to present the character with emotional depth and philosophical insight. Her portrayal is expected to be central to the film’s broader themes of societal injustice and resilience.
Dhandoraa is set against the backdrop of rural Telangana and focuses on caste discrimination, honour killings, and other social issues. A recently released teaser titled First Beat includes historical footage of B.R. Ambedkar and references to real-world caste violence, underlining the film’s political context.
The film’s technical crew includes Mark K Robin composing music, Venkat R. Sakhamuri behind the camera, Srujana Adusumilli taking care of editing, and Kranthi Priyam doing art direction. Produced by Ravindra Benerjee Muppaneni, Dhandoraa continues the banner’s association with socially relevant cinema after Colour Photo and Bedurulanka 2012.
