On Friday, streamer ETV Win announced that they would be streaming the much-acclaimed Indie film Muthayya on their platform. Muthayya is directed by Bhaskhar Maurya, who also directed the recently-released web series Sivarapalli.
Starring K Sudhakar Reddy in the lead role, Muthayya tells the story of a 70 year old man who strives to fulfil his aspiration of becoming an actor before he dies. Additionally, the film marks the debut for Arun Raj, besides featuring Purna Chandra and Mounika Bomma in the supporting cast.
Talking about the film’s OTT premiere, Bhaskhar Maurya said, “We are really happy to bring the film to our audience through ETV Win. Muthayya is my debut feature film and I’m confident that people will fall in love with Muthayya and K Sudhakar Reddy and newcomer Arun Raj have delivered wonderful performances.”
The film has been jointly produced by Vamsi Karumanchi and Vrinda Prasad under Hylife Entertainments and Fictionary Entertainment banners. Divakar Mani, the cinematographer of the film, is also on-board as the co-producer. Karthik Rodriguez has provided the music, and Sai Murali is the editor.
Over the last 2 years, Muthayya has had screenings at several film festivals across the world — including UK Asian Film Festicval in London, South Asian Film Festival of Montreal (Canada), Habitat Film Festival (New Delhi), India Film Festival of Alberta (Canada), Third ACTion Film Festival's (Canada), Cinemaking International Film Festival (Bangladesh), and Ischia Global Fest (Italy).
