Ravi Teja-starrer Khadgam to re-release in theatres

The Krishna Vamsi directorial was one of the most-acclaimed films of 2002, also winning 5 Nandi awards

Khadgam, the popular 2002 film that starred Ravi Teja and Prakash Raj in prominent roles, will soon re-release in theatres. The film’s director, Krishna Vamsi, made the announcement on his X page on Wednesday, also announcing October 2 as the re-release date.  

Produced by Sunkara Madhu Murali, Khadgam told the story of an aspring actor (Ravi Teja) and his best friend (Prakash Raj), who join hands with a righteous police officer, after being brought together under unusual circumstances, to combat terrorism. The action-drama also starred Meka Srikanth, Sonali Bendre, Sangeetha Krish and Sonali Bendre in significant roles. 

Khadgam was one of the most acclaimed Telugu films that year, besides being a boxoffice hit and recipient of 5 Nandi Awards, including the ones for Best Direction and Best Film on National Integration. Khadgam was remade in Hindi as Insaan, which released in 2005. 

Incidentally, another of Krishna Vamsi's films, Murari, recently had a theatrical re-release, opening to packed houses across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
