Dulquer Salmaan and Meenakshi Chaudhary will soon be sharing screens in the upcoming period heist drama Lucky Baskhar. Ahead of their film’s release, the two actors sat down for a casual promotional interview with actor-producer Rana Daggubati. During the same, Dulquer Salmaan shared an interesting anecdote about the final cut of Lucky Baskhar.

Talking about his working experience and relationship with director Venky Atluri, Dulquer said, “The biggest fights I’ve had with Venky are in post-shoot, during edit sessions.” The actor explained that the two constantly found themselves arguing about the duration of many scenes, adding, “He obviously had a runtime in my head, while I was often like, ‘How can you take this scene out? It’s so real, so organic.’ Venky would then remind me that he had a larger story to tell.”

Further reflecting on the irony of the situation, Dulquer noted, “It’s been a long time since I fought with the direction to lengthen a film. Normally, we are fighting to trim down a film. This time, I kept saying, “I think you can afford another 5 minutes. Let the film breathe. It can afford it.”

Although the makers haven’t officially announced the film’s duration yet, Lucky Baskhar has reportedly a runtime of 150 minutes. The film, produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, will hit theatres on October 31.
