Anee Master, a noted choreographer in Telugu cinema, spoke to the media in Hyderabad and expressed her support for Jani Master. Choreographer Shaik Jani is currently in police custody after an assistant choreographer filed a POCSO case against him. During her press conference, Anee expressed her disappointment at the cancellation of Jani's National Award, which he won for the Thiruchitrambalam song 'Megham Karukatha'.
Voicing her support for her colleague, she said, “If he’s done wrong, he will be punished by the law. But it’s unfair to strip him of his National Award which he deserves. I worked with him for two years, I can vouch for his character and professionalism. When I was in a struggling phase, after my marriage and with a kid, Jani Master offered me work for the song ‘Dhillaku Dhillaku.’ I am still in shock about what is happening.”
Further talking about the victim who filed the case, Anee reflected, “If she really went through this, then I fully support her. But from what I have seen, she was praising Jani master for being a God-figure to her. Even six months ago, she appeared on many channels and praised him to the sky. I am confused on how the same person is accusing him of this. This is a big question for me.”
Anee further pointed out that Jani's wife had demanded a dance union card for the victim. However, the card was not issued due to the union's norms and regulations. She concluded that choreographer Jani is a victim and that the truth will be out soon. Recently, choreographer Aata Sandeep and his wife Jyothi Raj also came in support of Jani.
Jani Master was arrested by Cyberabad police for threatening and sexually assaulting an assistant choreographer after the victim filed a case against him. After he gave a confession, a POCSO charge was also filed against the choreographer since the victim was a minor during the abuse.
