Reports suggest that the makers of Jai Hanuman, the upcoming sequel to HanuMan, approached Rishab Shetty to play a crucial role. Writer-director Prasanth Varma tasted massive success with this year’s HanuMan which turned out to be a crowd puller and received acclaim. The director is also mounting Mahakali as a writer and showrunner which is billed as India’s first female superhero film.
HanuMan is based in the remote village of Anjanadri where a thief, played by Teja Sajja, discovers Hanuman-like abilities. He gradually becomes the hero of the village against a formidable antagonist played by Vinay Rai. The makers teased that a sequel is arriving at the end of the film with an introduction to an expected character. Rumours are circulating that Rishab Shetty might have been approached to essay this role. Jai Hanuman’s cast includes the actors from the first part, Teja Sajja, Amritha Aiyer, continuing their roles. The makers are yet to confirm the news.
Rishab Shetty, who recently won the National award for best actor, is currently busy with Kantara: Chapter 1, a prequel to the pan-Indian super-hit Kantara.
