Samantha Ruth Prabhu attended the pre-release event of Alia Bhatt starrer Jigra, which was held in Hyderabad on Tuesday. Besides releasing in Hindi, Jigra is also having a theatrical release in Telugu dub version, which is being distributed by Rana Daggubati.

The event was graced by other noted Telugu industry figures like Trivikram Srinivas, Rana Daggubati, among others. Addressing the gathering, Samantha shared a few words of praise for Alia as she said, “As heroines, we have a responsibility. To sometimes tell a story where you remind women of the world that they are the heroes in their lives. I think that’s why the work that Alia does is so, so important. She reminds us that we are the heroes in our stories. Another reason to respect her more is that she is the co-producer of this film. She is backing her own project and attacking a risk on herself.”

Later, Alia addressed Trivikram Srinivas, expressing her desire to be directed by him. “Trivikram sir, I think Samantha and I should do a film written and directed by you,” Alia said.

Written and directed by Vasan Bala, Jigra promises to be an emotional action film. The film is releasing in Hindi and Telugu on October 11.
