Eminent filmmaker Gunasekhar is returning with a youth-centric thriller, his upcoming film, titled Euphoria. Neelima Guna is producing the film under the banner of Guna Handmade Productions. The makers released a first glimpse video for it on Monday.
The Euphoria glimpse video begins with a fascinating vignette of a young woman struggling to cope, while aboard a metro train, after consuming drugs. By the looks of it, Euphoria is set against the backdrop of uber-rich society, showing the lives of a bunch of teenagers who are living their life dangerously on the edge. However, things get grim when a group of young boys sexually assault a girl. Euphoria also promises to make a strong social commentary on the rape culture and the systematic injustice meted out to survivors more often than not.
Young star Sara Arjun, who attained nationwide fame with her appearance in Mani Ratnam’s magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan, plays a prominent role in the film. Euphoria also stars Bhumika Chawla in a major part. The supporting cast includes prominent names like Nasser, Rohith, Vignesh Gavireddy, Likhita Yalamanchali, Addala Prudhviraj, Sai Srinika Reddy, Ashrita Vemuganti, Mathew Varghese, Aadarsh Balakrishna, Ravi Prakash, Naveena Reddy, and Likith Naidu.
Kaala Bhairava is the music director for the upcoming thriller-drama. Prawin Pudi is the editor, and Pravee K Pothan is the cinematographer. The costume design is by Poojitha Tadikona and art direction is by Srinivas Kalinga.
The makers of Euphoria are yet to set a release date for their film.
