Jr NTR gave an interview with anchor Suma post the release of Devara: Part 1. The period actioner received mixed response from audiences but is doing well at the box office. The film, written and directed by Koratala Siva, came out on September 27.
Reacting to the audiences’ quick-judgement nature, Jr NTR quipped, “We as an audience have become very negative these days. We are not able to enjoy a film in an innocent manner anymore. When I watch my sons, Abhay and Bhargav, they don’t care about what actor or what movie they are watching, they just enjoy movies. I wonder why we are not able to be that innocent anymore?”
He further added about the analytical reactions that audiences are giving to films, he said, “Every film today, we are watching it to analyse. We are all constantly judging, analysing, overthinking about films. Maybe our exposure to cinema has made us like this.”
He also lamented that this might a part of audiences evolution cycle and remarked, “Maybe this is all part of the cycle. All of this might go to an extreme or already did, and then, will correct itself and return to normal.”
Devara: Part 1 also starred Saif Ali Khan, Jhanvi Kapoor, Sunil, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Shine Tom Chacko, Getup Srinu and more. The film’s music by Anirudh Ravichander got positive responses.
Talking about the film, our review said, “Koratala Siva sets up the foundation for a great spectacle this way, except his filmmaking style is barely in sync with the potential of his material, and that becomes the biggest undoing of Devara.”
