Veteran actor Nagarjuna was in attendance at the the 55th edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Panaji on Friday, on the occasion of IFFI paying a tribute to his father and legendary actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao with a special session titled 'Centenary Special ANR: Celebrating the Life and Works of Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Later, while partaking in a conversation with actress Khushbu Sundar, the Manmadhudu actor spoke about the many facets of his late father, including the possibility of making a biopic about him.

Talking about why making an ANR biopic would be tough, Nagarjuna said, “To make a movie on his life would be very difficult, because he carved an upward path. It kept going high. It would be very boring to make a film about him. For a film, you need to tell a story, and there need to be ups and downs. We will have to fictionalise a lot. He was a very gifted man that way.” “We will make a documentary, with ANR playing himself,” the actor added with a chuckle.

It is to be noted that earlier this year, Nagarjuna and his family held a ANR special film festival in 21 cities across the country, celebrating the birth centenary of the late actor, screening many of his popular movies like Devadasu, Misamma, Gundamma Katha, and Prema Abhishekam among others.
