The makers of Venkatesh Daggubati starrer Sankranthiki Vasthunam announced on Wednesday that the film is releasing on January 14, 2025. The film’s release date was unveiled in a quirky way where the makers held a press meet and conducted a “Guess the story” game with the media. Speaking at the event, Venkatesh said, “When it comes to entertaining films, after working with EVV, I have the most comfort with Anil. The way he showed me in F2 was fun.”
The film’s producer, Dil Raju, quipped, “Anil played smart. Fearing that I might postpone the film, he finalised this title, forcing me to release it during Sankranthi. Jokes apart, Sankranthi has always been a fruitful season for all of us here, Anil, Venkatesh gaaru, and me. This film offers full entertainment; family audiences will enjoy it.”
Directed by Anil Ravipudi, Sankrathiki Vasthunam is billed as a triangular crime comedy. Produced by Dil Raju and Shirish under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations. The film was initially scheduled for a Sankranti release, but due to clashing with the same production’s Game Changer release, there were speculations that the film might get postponed. But the makers announced that both the films from the banner are releasing with a few days gap, with the Ram Charan starrer coming out on January 10.
Sankrathiki Vasthunam also stars Meenaakshi Chaudhary as Venkatesh's ex-girlfriend and Aishwarya Rajesh as his wife. Upendra Limaye and Rajendra Prasad are also part of the cast. Bheems Ceciroleo composed the music, Sameer Reddy cranked the cinematography, while AS Prakash took care of production design.
