Raju Weds Rambai is an upcoming intense love story produced by director Venu Udugula of Virata Parvam fame. The makers unveiled the film’s title with a glimpse into the story. The glimpse has the girl introducing herself, her village between Khamman and Warangal, and their love story with the village’s drummer Raju. She also says that her love story brought fame to their coal mining village of Yellandu. The glimpse also compares the love story with folk dance forms, “Teenmaar,” “Domaar,” and “Nagi.” The rooted Telangana love story marks the debut of writer-director Sailu Kampati. The makers also announced the film’s release date to be February 14, 2025.
Venu Udugula is bankrolling Raju Weds Rambai under his banner Monsoon Tales in association with Rahul Mopidevi of Dolamukhi Subaltern Films. In the title glimpse launch, producer Venu Udugula said. “Sailu has been traveling with me for three years. One day he said that he wrote a story based on a true incident that happened in their area. After hearing that story, I got an extraordinary feeling. The many scenes in the story, the place where the story takes place, the characters and the conflict between those characters all attracted me. The climax especially did not let me sleep for three days. I have never seen or heard such a diverse love story. With a strong intention to make this story into a movie, I shared it with ETV Win. They also felt happy after hearing the story. We have come to you with this collaboration. Now we have released the title glimpses. I am very happy that you all like it.” The film is being produced in collaboration with noted streaming platform ETV WIN. And this marks the first theatrical film for the platform.
Raju Weds Rambai’s technical crew has Wajid Baig handling cinematography, Gandhi Nadikudikar doing production design, and Naresh Adupa handling editing. Suresh Bobbili is composing the music for this film. The love story has Suresh Bobbili composing music with lyrics by Mittapalli Surender. The makers are yet to reveal details about the film's cast.
