Producer Dil Raju attended the success meet of the Kiran Abbavaram starrer KA. Talking about the success of Diwali releases this year, even the Dulquer Salmaan starrer Lucky Baskhar earned rave reviews and applause, he said. “This is the first time in my 30-year long career that I saw all the films released on Diwali were successful. Five films were released; all of them are in a safe zone.”
Reacting to Kiran Abbavaram’s recent fiery speech during the pre-release of KA, where he lamented on the lack of support from the industry and the incessant trolling from the audiences, Dil Raju said, “I came here mainly to talk about Kiran’s recent speech. This industry purely works on talent. Nobody will support someone. If your film succeeds, people like me will come to congratulate, but end of the day, it’s your journey. Even I came from a village, nobody supported my journey. Only your hardwork will take you places. Don’t have false expectations.” Even recently, Rakesh Varre, who is headlining the film Jithender Reddy, released on Friday, gave a heated speech about the lack of celebrity support for smaller films.
Further talking about the issue of trolling on social media, Dil Raju elaborated, “If you remember, 40-50 years ago in villages, the people who were free would run their mouths and pass rude remarks. Those remarks would spread around the village slowly but today because of social media, the same thing is being spread around the world. Don’t let those comments stop you.”
KA, starring Kiran Abbavaram and Nayan Sarika, is a period-thriller directed by debut director-duo Sujeeth-Sandeep. The mystery thriller is based in the village of Krishnagiri in the 80s, where Kiran Abbavaram plays the role of a postman, Vasudev. The film released on October 31 world-wide and gained positive reception from audiences.
