Prasanth Varma, who became a household name with his mytho-superhero film Hanu-Man, is the storywriter for the upcoming film Devaki Nandana Vasudeva. The film, starring Ashok Galla in the lead, is slated for a theatrical release on November 14. During a recent media interaction, the Hanu-Man director spoke about how we wanted to direct the Ashok Galla starrer.
Prasanth Varma stated, “I liked this story a lot, so I wanted to direct the film at first. I had worked on it for about 2 years.” Also, talking about his early impressions of Ashok Galla, Prasanth added, “Initially, I was skeptic about Ashok Galla. He has a classy appearance, so I wondered whether he would suit in a massy film. However, when we did the look test, we gained some confidence. Later, when I saw the rushes of the first schedule, I was impressed by how well he could pull off the massy avatar.”
The Hanu-Man director also recalled having some doubts about casting Teja Sajja in Hanu-Man, adding, “Like they say, every film has the actor predestined for it.”
Produced by Sominenj Balakrishna under the banner of Lalithambika Productions, Devaki Nandana Vasudeva also stars Manasa Varanasi and Devdatta Gajanan Nage.
