Allari Naresh, who played the lead role in the recent comedy Aa Okkati Adakku, will soon be seen in a gritty avatar in the film Bachchala Malli. The makers of the film released its first look on Tuesday.

The first look of Bachchala Malli features Naresh in a gritty, dishevelled look. He is seen giving an intense look, smoking a cigarette, and sitting on a rickshaw. One can also see a carnival with fireworks and people in religious get-ups in the background. The sacred thread on his neck adds to the rooted look of Naresh’s character.

Subbu Mangadevvi, who has earlier directed the film Solo Brathuke So Better, is directing Bachchala Malli. While the story and dialogues are penned by Subbu, Vipparthi Madhu has penned the screenplay, and Viswanetra is credited with additional screenplay. Razesh Danda and Balaji Gutta, who have produced films like Samajavaragamana and Ooru Peru Bhairavakona, are bankrolling the film under the banner of Hasya Movies.

The film’s ensemble cast includes Amritha Aiyer, Rohini, Rao Ramesh, Achyuth Kumar, Balagam Jayaram, Hari Teja, Praveen, and Viva Harsha. Vishal Chandrasekhar of Sita Ramam fame is the music director for the film. Cinematography is by Richard M Nathan, and editing is by Chota K Prasad.

Bachchala Malli is set against the backdrop of the 1990s. Reportedly, the film is in the final stage of production.
