Vishwak Sen has been gaining accolades for his performance in the critically acclaimed adventure drama Gaami. In a post-release press meet held at Tirupati, the actor expressed his gratitude for the love his film has been receiving, while remarking that if his film gained endorsement from some of the biggies in Tollywood, it would be beneficial for the film. The statement comes in the light of Mahesh Babu and SS Rajamouli appreciating the Telugu dub of Premalu on social media recently. The Telugu version of Premalu, distributed by SS Karthikeya, released on the same day as Gaami.
These statements were misconstrued by some of the trolls who began to circulate statements made by Vishwak at the pre-release event of his 2019 film Falaknuma Das. In that event, Vishwak mentions that he does not require any support from anybody and that he will rise in his career on his own.
Providing a clarification to the statement he made in Tirupati, Vishwak has written a note on his personal social media. The note mentions that he was hoping the appreciation would help the technicians of Gaami, most of whom were newcomers, more than himself or anybody else. He has also reiterated that Gaami will be remembered as an eventful film in the history of Telugu cinema.
Gaami also stars Chandini Chowdary, MG Abhinaya, Harika Pedada and Mohammad Samad. The film is directed by Vidyadhar Kagita and produced by Karthik Sabareesh. The film has music composed by Sweekar Agasthi and Naresh Kumaran, with cinematography by Vishwanath Reddy and editing by Raghavendra Thirun.
