Dhanush's DNS is now titled Kubera

The makers of DNS, Dhanush’s upcoming film written and directed by Sekhar Kammula, have announced their film’s title on Friday evening, on occasion of Shivaratri. The film is titled Kubera. The film also stars Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna. Bollywood actor Jim Sarbh will also be starring in Kubera. It is his maiden film. 

The film marks the maiden collaboration of Sekhar Kammula with all three actors. It is also the first time Dhanush is working with Nagarjuna and Rashmika. Nagarjuna and Rashmika have previously worked together in the Sriram Adittya directorial Devadas (2018). Kubera is produced by Suneil Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banner Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, in association with Sekhar Kammula’s home banner Amigos Creations Pvt Ltd. The producers have previously collaborated with Sekhar Kammula on his last film Love Story (2021). Sonali Narang is presenting the film. 

The first look of Kubera features Dhanush in an unkempt look, while the deities of Shiva and Annapurna are in the background. To the uninitiated, Kubera is the Hindu god of wealth. The film is rumoured to be an actioner with elements of social drama set in the slums of Dharavi in Mumbai. 

Kubera went on floors recently. Devi Sri Prasad is composing the film’s music, with cinematography by Niketh Bommi and production design by Ramakrishna Sabbani and Monika Nigotre. Lyricist, screenwriter and Sekhar Kammula’s frequent collaborator Chaitanya Pingali has been credited as the film’s co-writer.
