Rajinikanth heaps praise on Kalki 2898 AD, says he is eagerly waiting for part 2

Ever since the release of director Nag Ashwin's latest film Kalki 2898 AD, celebrities, fans and critics have all been in praise of the film. The latest to join the bandwagon is actor Rajinikanth.

Describing his emotions after watching the film, he took to his X handle and said it was an "epic movie" and that the director had taken "Indian Cinema to a different level."

He wrote, "Watched Kalki. WOW! What an epic movie! Director Nag Ashwin has taken Indian Cinema to a different level. Hearty congratulations to my dear friend Aswini Dutt, Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, Kamal Haasan and Deepika Padukone, and the team of Kalki 2898 AD. Eagerly waiting for part 2. God Bless."

Set in a dystopian future, Kalki 2898 AD stars an ensemble cast featuring Prabhas in the lead role as Bhairava, Amitabh Bachchan as Ashwatthama, Deepika Padukone as SUM-80 (a) Sumathi, Shobana as Mariam, Kamal Haasan as Supreme Yaskin, Disha Patani as Roxie, Saswata Chatterjee as Commander Manas, Pasupathy, Brahmanandam and many others.

The film has music composed by Santhosh Narayanan, cinematography handled by Djordje Stojiljkovic and editing by Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao. The film is produced by C Aswani Dutt under Vyjayanthi Movies.

On the workfront, Rajinikanth was last seen in Aishwarya Rajinikanth's Lal Salaam which was released last year. He is currently working for TJ Gnanavel's Vettaiyan and has Lokesh Kanagaraj's Coolie upcoming.
