Kalki 2898 AD release trailer: Battle intensifies between the two forces of time to save God itself

Six days before the release of their film, the makers of Kalki 2898 AD shared a release trailer of their film. The upcoming sci-fi-meets-mythology spectacle is directed by Nag Ashwin.

Unlike the previous trailer (which was released two weeks ago), the new Kalki 2898 AD trailer is more expansive, and introduces many new elements, focusing primarily on the central battle between Bhairava (Prabhas) and Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan) to save the God that resides in Sumathi's (Deepika Padukone) womb. The new trailer also gives a deeper glimpse into the three universes of the narrative - Complex , the sky city ruled by the elite, the last surviving city of Kasi, and Shambala, which is seemingly the refuge for the people persecuted by the elite.

Besides Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan, the trailer also features Kamal Haasan who plays a sage, prophesying about the inevitably fallible nature of mankind. The new trailer is also underscored by a Santosh Narayanan composition that captures the mythical time-travel element of the narrative. 

Produced by Vyjayanthi Movies, Kalki 2898 AD is scheduled to release on June 27.
