New schedule begins for Varun Tej starrer Matka; makers share new poster

Varun Tej starrer Matka has been one of the most anticipated Telugu films of the year. On Thursday, the makers of the period crime drama shared an update on their X page about kicking off a new shoot schedule. 

Reportedly, the Operation Valentine actor has returned to sets after a break, and the makers have commenced a 40-day schedule on a huge set built in Hyderabad. The makers also shared a new poster for their film on the occasion. The poster features a close shot of a vintage telephone being held by someone wearing all-white attire. The first glimpse of Matka was unveiled earlier in January this year, on the occasion of Varun Tej's birthday, giving a brief look into the world of Matka and Varun Tej's character.

Matka is inspired by a real-life incident and tells a story that spans across many timelines. Reportedly, Varun Tej will be seen donning four distinct looks for his role. Karuna Kumar, who is the director for Matka, has also penned the story, screenplay and dialogue for his directorial. 

Besides Varun Tej, Matka stars Nora Fatehi and Meenakshi Chaudhary in prominent roles. The ensemble cast of Matka includes names like Naveen Chandra, Ajay Ghosh, Kannada Kishore, Ravindra Vijay, P Ravi Shankar, etc. GV Prakash Kumar is the music director for the crime drama. A Kishore Kumar helms the cinematography, while the editing is by Karthika Srinivas R. 

Matka is being produced by Dr Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Talluri under the banners Vyra Entertainments and SRT Entertainments.
