The much-awaited trailer of the Prabhas starrer Kalki 2898 AD was officially released at a grand ceremony in Hyderabad on Monday. Kalki 2898 AD is written and directed by Nag Ashwin.

The Kalki 2898 AD trailer begins in a futuristic universe, where an oligarchic ruler (Saswata Chatterjee) is on the hunt for a warrior woman named Padma (Deepika Padukone), who is being protected by Ashwatthama (Amitabh Bachchan). The trailer then introduces Bhairava (Prabhas), a bounty hunter with an impeccable record who is given the task of finding Padma. Thereon begins the battle between the two forces that could change the concept of time itself. The trailer ends with a dramatic reveal of Kamal Haasan’s character, who seemingly plays a prophet. Kalki 2898 AD promises to offer a cinematic spectacle that explores mythology, time-travel, and science fiction at once.

Kalki 2898 AD stars Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, and Amitabh Bachchan in lead roles, while Kamal Haasan and Disha Patani will be seen in extended special appearances. The ensemble cast of Kalki 2898 AD includes the likes of Shobhana, Brahmanandam, Rajendra Prasad, and Saswata Chatterjee, among others. Additionally, Mahanati actress Keerthy Suresh has provided the voiceover for the character of Bujji, Bhairava’s robot automobile friend.

Santosh Narayanan has composed the music for the Nag Ashwin directorial. The cinematography is by Djordje Stojiljkovic, and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao is the editor.
