Composer Hesham Abdul Wahab, who is the music director for the upcoming release Manamey, interacted with the media ahead of the film’s release. On the occasion, the composer spoke about his working experience on the Sharwanand-Krithi Shetty starrer and gave details about the film’s soundtrack.
The Manamey soundtrack has a total of 16 compositions, a rarity in current times. Talking about how the Manamey soundtrack evolved, the composer stated that he and director Sriram Adittya weren’t planning to have as many songs when they started working. Hesham Abdul Wahab added, “We composed 10 songs for the first half, and realised another six would be required for the second half. This is the first time I have composed so many songs for a movie.”
Describing Manamey as a 'musical film,' Hesham Abdul Wahab said, “Songs take the narrative forward wonderfully. Sriram is very smart, and he inspired me a lot throughout the process. I got a chance to express my complete knowledge of music in Manamey.” Hesham Abdul Wahab is also the composer for the Nani starrer Hi Nanna, which released in December last year and received a lot of acclaim for its music.
Meanwhile, the latest single ‘Tappa Tappa’ from Manamey, which was released on Thursday, has nearly 1.3 million hits on Youtube so far. Manamey is gearing up for its theatrical release on June 7.
