The Priyadarshi-Nabha Natesh starrer Darling is scheduled to hit theatres on July 19. Ahead of their film’s release, the makers of Darling completed their censorship formalities. Darling has received an U/A certificate from the Censor Board.
In a media interaction on Thursday, director Aswin Raam clarified the reason for its U/A rating. He stated, “We don’t have any cuts. And even though our film barely contains any violence or sexual content, we are still dealing with a sensitive subject like split personality disorder. Since we are dealing with the mental disorder issue, the Censor Board has given us a U/A rating, where kids can watch it but with parental guidance.”
Darling also stars Ananya Nagalla in a prominent role, as well as actors like Brahmanandam, Vishnu, and Krishna Tej. Eminent production banner Primeshow Entertainment, which produced the surprise blockbuster HanuMan earlier this year, is bankrolling Darling, with K Niranjan Reddy serving as the producer. The technical crew of Darling comprises cinematographer Naresh Ramadurai, editor Pradeep E Raghav, and music composer Vivek Sagar.
Upon its release, Darling will clash at the box office against films like Peka Medalu and The Birthday Boy.
