Please delete all defamatory content within 48 hours: Manchu Vishnu warns Youtubers and content creators

Popular Youtuber Praneeth Hanumanthu, who received a lot of criticism for his derogatory comments about a father-daughter video during a Livestream session, was arrested in Bengaluru on Wednesday. Meanwhile, actor-producer Manchu Vishnu, who is also the president of Movie Artists Association (MAA), issued an official statement for content creators on behalf of the organisation on Wednesday.

Sharing a video on his Instagram page, the Kannappa actor condemned the statements made by Praneeth and his friends, stating that such indecent behaviour by them brings a bad name to the entire Telugu community. Vishnu also shared that veteran comic actor Brahmanandam expressed his displeasure about his photos and videos being used for some offensive and vulgar memes. The actor further informed that the association has received hundreds of letters and emails in past couple of days, where they were being asked to take action against the same. 

Manchu Vishnu took the opportunity to warn all content creators, saying, “It’s my sincere appeal to all these Youtubers and content creators, who make derogatory remarks about film heroines or actors’ wives under the garb of ‘dark humour’ – Please delete any such videos or comments with in 48 hours of this video going online. If you fail to do so, we shall review all such content, complain to cybersecurity in case of any defamatory content found online, and take legal action to ban the concerned Youtube channels.”

The actor further appealed to Telangana chief minister Revanth Reddy, deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Andhra Pradesh chief minister Chandrababu Naidu and deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan to support MAA in their initiative.
