Prabhas' next is titled The Raja Saab

We had previously reported that the makers of Prabhas' upcoming film with director Maruthi will be unveiling their title on Makara Sankranti. The film is titled The Raja Saab. A first look poster of the film was also simultaneously unveiled on Monday morning. The Raja Saab stars Prabhas in the lead role. The official announcement reads: "#TheRajaSaab It is..The whole team wishes you all a very Happy and Joyous Sankranti. A Rebel's Entertainment Explodes Worldwide Soon."

Master-fame actor Malavika Mohanan will be playing the film's female lead. It is the first time the duo have been paired together. The Raja Saab also marks Malavika's Telugu cinema debut. She predominantly appears in Tamil and Malayalam films. Director Maruthi, known for his films Bus Stop (2012), Bhale Bhale Magadivoy (2015) and Shailaja Reddy Alludu (2018) is The Raja Saab's writer and director. He last helmed the 2022 Gopichand starrer Pakka Commercial. 

The Raja Saab is said to be an out-and-out comedy film. Prabhas will be seen making a markedly lighter shift in his filmography after starring in high octane action (Saaho, Salaar), romantic drama (Radhe Shyam) and mythological film (Aadipurush). The actor will also be appearing next in Kalki 2898 AD, a sci-fi dystopian magnum opus set in the future. 

The Raja Saab is produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. Vivek Kuchibhotla is the co-producer of the film. Karthik Palani (French Biryani, Varisu) is the cinematographer of the film, with editing by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao (Mahanati, the Baahubali duology) and production design by Rajeevan (Nani's Gang Leader, Vakeel Saab). Thaman is the music composer of The Raja Saab.
