We had previously announced that Chiranjeevi will be working next in an upcoming mythological fantasy directed by Bimbisara-fame director Vassishta. The makers of Mega 156 film have made two crucial announcements on Monday. They have announced their film's title, Vishwambhara, and they have also announced that the film will be hitting theatres for  Sankranti 2025. Vishwambhara comes two years after Waltair Veerayya, Chiranjeevi's previous Sankranti release, which hit theatres in 2023. A promotional video of Vishwambhara has also been unveiled.

Vishwambhara's glimpse video, embodying celestial magic, begins with a shot of someone locking a box, which falls down. The box passes through a black hole and falls into an asteroid. After a few more obstacles, the box reaches planet Earth near a large statue of the Hanuman deity. A crater is seen hurling towards Earth's direction, and the magic box remains unharmed. A title card emerges as the video ends. In previous interviews, Vassishta has announced that Vishwambhara will bring back the glory of Chiranjeevi in a mythological fantasy film, as last witnessed in K Raghavendra Rao's Jagadeeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1991). Vishwambhara is poised to be the most expensive film so far in Chiranjeevi's four-decade-old career. Vishwambara promises to be a VFX-rich visual spectacle. The film is currently in production in the  Maredumilli region of East Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, where scenes without its leading man Chiranjeevi are being canned.

Here's the video glimpse

Vikram, Vamsi and Pramod of UV Creations are the producers of Vishwambhara. UV Creations has bagged a hit last year with Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty, which starred Anushka Shetty and Naveen Polishetty in the lead roles. Notably, Vamsi and Pramod of UV Creations have recently partnered up with actor Ram Charan, to create a new production banner titled V Mega Creations. Ram Charan had previously produced his father Chiranjeevi's films Khaidi 150 (2017), Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy (2019) and Acharya (2022). Chiranjeevi's older daughter, costume designer and producer Sushmita Konidela will serve as Vishwambhara's costume designer. It may be noted that Sushmita was supposed to produce Mega 156, a Telugu adaptation of the Malayalam film Bro Daddy (2022), under her banner Goldbox Entertainments. Given the fact that this remake was titled Mega 156 back then, Vishwambhara was then referred to as Mega 157. After the remake was scrapped and shelved due to undisclosed reasons, Mega 157 became Mega 156 and Mega 156 became Vishwambhara

Academy Award laureates MM Keeravani and Chandrabose have been roped in as the music composer and lyricist of Vishwambhara respectively. Senior lyricist and Keeravani's father Siva Sakthi Datta  will also be writing the film's lyrics, alongside Chandrabose. Srinivas Gavireddy, Ganta Sridhar, Nimmagadda Srikanth and Mayukh Adithya are the script associates of Vishwambhara. Chota K Naidu is the cinematographer of the film, with editing by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao and production design by AS Prakash.
