Yeshasvi V to direct a film for Sukumar

Writer-director Sukumar has always displayed a penchant for picking and nurturing new talent. A host of writers under his tutelege, along with a bunch of directors who have worked with him, have eventually gone on to make a mark for themselves in the film industry. Yeshasvi V is the latest in line to join Sukumar for a new film. The one-film-old director will be helming a film for Sukumar Writings. Yeshasvi has previously directed Siddharth Roy, a romantic drama. Siddharth Roy stars former child actor Deepak Saroj in the lead role. Siddharth Roy is yet to hit the theatres. The teaser of the film came out sometime last year. According to the official announcement, Sukumar offered Yeshasvi the film, after being impressed with his work in Siddharth Roy.

Previous directors who have risen up the ranks in the industry post their association with Sukumar include Palnati Surya Pratap (Kumari 21F, 18 Pages), Srikanth Odela (Dasara), Karthik Dandu (Virupaksha), Buchi Babu Sana (Uppena) and Shouree Chandrashekar T Ramesh (Butta Bomma). Sukumar is currently working on Pushpa : The Rule, the much awaited sequel of his 2021 pan-India action drama Pushpa : The Rise. Pushpa : The Rule is scheduled to hit theatres on August 15, 2024.
